Highfield Estates, a distinctive new community in Bucks County, is situated in a location ideal for families who love to celebrate autumn. As the air starts to turn crisp, summertime gives way to the exciting changing of seasons. Luckily, these new homes in Chalfont, PA are in proximity to a variety of fall festivals for you to enjoy!

Three of the most beloved cultural celebrations of the region take place within just 20 minutes of these new homes in Bucks County. In just a short drive, you can immerse yourself in time-honored traditions — participating in seasonal harvests, creativity and family fun. The Scarecrow Festival, The Perkasie Fall Festival and Peddler’s Village Apple Festival are just a few of the convenient, wholesome and best-of-all free attractions that you and your family won’t soon forget.

Have Fun with Scarecrows

From early September through late October, the walkways of Peddler’s Village are graced with creations of every sort of straw figure imaginable in the local annual Scarecrow Contest. As a member of the Bucks County community, you are invited to vote on your favorite design during the first three weeks of the display (September 10th through October 1st).

Or, better yet, enter your own scary creation and put your innovative wits to the test in one of several categories. If you’re not sure where to begin, you can try one of the many workshops offered during the Scarecrow Festival. Get step-by-step instruction on how to create your very own scarecrow and walk out with your own chilling masterpiece.

Jump into Fall

Another way to celebrate the fall season in Bucks County is at the nearby Perkasie Fall Festival held on the last day of September (9-30) at Menlo Park. This is another free event that is open to the public — and features a petting zoo, balloon twisting, face painting, more scarecrows, a gymnastics tumbling track and the Perkasie Carousel.

This dynamic day of excitement includes a variety of activities for all age groups including pumpkin decorating, acrobatic performances, a pie eating contest, live music, hayrides, arts and crafts, outdoor games and more.

Keep Your Eyes on the Prize

Early November in Southeast Pennsylvania means apples and plenty of them. The Peddler’s Village Apple Festival is the perfect chance to stock up on some fresh fruit to enjoy in your new Bucks County home.

Every shop in town will be selling apple-related products and creations including apple butter, applesauce, apple pie, candy apples, caramel apples, fritters, dumplings and more — all amid the pleasant aroma of apple cider warming over an open fire. Admission and parking are free, as are the intimacy and old world charm of this unique festival.
