Bucks County’s Annual Spring Fling Festival is Buzzing with Excitement

April is a special time in Bucks County as nature reawakens, the weather gets warmer and the community comes together to celebrate. The annual Spring Fling Festival is open to the public, and features vendors, music entertainment, interactive yoga classes, creative craft workshops, presentations on honeybees, natural habitat education and more.

If you’re a resident at Highfield Estates, you won’t want to miss the opportunity to meet some of your fellow Bucks County neighbors at Peddler’s Village for the Spring Fling Festival-- the scene of all the excitement.

Peruse the Marketplace

More than three-dozen vendors will be displaying their handcrafted creations, keepsakes, decorations and delights. You can expect to be enticed by treasures like scented candles, handmade leather accessories, boutique birdhouses, gourmet cheeses, homemade beef jerky and more.

Spin with the Rhythms

Musicians and entertainers will be prevalent at every turn, whipping up melodies and marvels at the Food on the Green Stage, in the Gazebo and strolling along the village walkways. You can enjoy instrumental overtures from local Bucks County jazz and brass bands, rock and roll hits from the 50s and 60s, virtuoso duos, spirited dancers and mind boggling juggling performances.

Go With the Flow

While the festival extends through the weekend, you can participate in a 30-minute Vinyasa Yoga class twice a day. Take a quick break and engage in a short session as they teach you to seamlessly string beneficial postures together through fluid motion and controlled breathing.

Create a Critter

For those with children, why not stop by the Chirp Workshop for some hands on activities? Here youngsters of all ages will engage in how to “Stuff-a-Plushie.” Make a snuggly friend and choose from over 10 different kinds of critters including bears, dogs, cats, farm animals, jungle monkeys, forest friends and more.

Follow the Buzz

As you maneuver your way through the festival, you’ll find a buzz of educational opportunities including regional experts from Funny Farm Apiaries giving insight on the life cycle of honeybees. This is an excellent chance to learn about the different kinds of bees living in a hive, their individual jobs and how the honey, wax and propolis are safely extracted.

Participate in Preservation

If you are preparing your yard for spring, you may be interested in attracting more beautiful wildlife to your door. Stop by the Bucks County Audubon Society and discover which trees, flowers and shrubs to plant in your yard that will support the habitation of your feathered friends.
